First Botanical Garden
We have been working with a client for a while now on a special garden and I am realizing that beautiful gardens cannot be built overnight. I am never in a hurry to get it wrong. My client was the one who had the flash of brilliance for the latest addition. We are inspired by the world’s oldest botanical garden in Padua, Italy (1545). This residential garden does not compare in scale but we love the theme of squares within circles, gravel paths, antique stone edging and boxwood borders. The formal design could be used for growing vegetables but here we will plant it like the original medieval garden with specimen medicinal herbs and flowers each labeled with it’s scientific name. We might even make it more authentic by planting it sparsely.
